Nissan has unveiled its new NV250 light van, which is based on the current Renault Kangoo platform and will be produced at the Maubeuge factory in France.
The NV250, which will go on sale in the UK in September, comes with what Nissan claims is an industry-leading five-year, 100,000 mile warranty.
Nissan will offer the model in two body lengths (L1 4.28m, L2 4.67m) and as a panel van and crew van (L2 only). Cargo lengths in the panel van will go from 2.11m to 2.87m.
Payloads will range from 650kg for the L1 panel van to 800kg for the longer wheelbase L2 version while the crew van will offer a payload of 740kg.
The panel van is available in two- or three-seat configurations while the crew version comes with a maximum of four seats and multi-positional bulkhead for a versatile cargo space. Load volumes for the panel van in L1 mode range from 3.0m3 to 3.5m3 and extend to 4.0m3 to 4.6m3 for the long-bodied model.
A Euro6D-Temp compliant 1.5 diesel (developed with alliance partner Renault) with outputs of 80, 95 and 115hp will power the NV250.
Nissan claims the NV250 will be available with a wide range of conversions and with driver assistance features such as hill start assist and extended grip control.
Paolo D’Ettore, Light Commercial Vehicles director for Nissan Europe, said “The new Nissan NV250 is the perfect compact van for small businesses with big aspirations. By enabling customers to choose the version that is just right for them, the NV250 encourages more agile business deliveries and greater leisure freedom.”
