PSA confirms electric medium vans for 2020

Electric versions of the Peugeot Expert, Citroen Dispatch and Vauxhall Vivaro medium vans will arrive next year, parent company PSA has confirmed.

The electric versions of the vans, which are all based on the same platform, will be available with a choice of two different batteries.

PSA says a 50kWh battery will offer a driving range of 124 miles on the WLTP test cycle, while a 75kWh battery will offer a WLTP range of 186 miles.

The EMP2 platform on which the Expert, Dispatch and Vivaro are based has been designed to accommodate both internal combustion engines and electric powertrains, with the latter said to be a response in particular to the development of e-commerce activities.

The new models, which will be available in both LCV and passenger-carrying variants, will be assembled at the Hordain plant in northern France and equipped with electric powertrains assembled at the Trémery plant in the east of the country.

Prices, specs and an on-sale date are yet to be confirmed.

PSA says electrified versions of its entire LCV range will be available by 2021.
